Hi,
I have a 79 Trans Am and would like to know how to change the classification to Historic so that it’s tax and MOT exempt, which will help with resale. Log book states year of manufacture as 1979.
Would I need some kind of certification from this club to validate it? I have the VIN number and other identification numbers.
If anyone can advise the process for DVLA, it would be really appreciated.
Many Thanks
Paul

Re: Historic vehicle classification for 79 Trans Am
I am lead to believe it happens automatically, but any doubts just give DVLA a call. No proof should be needed as they have all the records on your car. I think it normally becomes exempt the year after it’s anniversary of exemption date. But give them a call.
