drivers side window moves when at speed

Post by bhm1712 » Sun Apr 20, 2014 2:14 pm

My drivers side window moves when im travelling above 50. The glass will sort of move outwards at the top, away from the door and "break" the seal between the glass and weather strip making an awful wind noise/hissing. when the door is open i can move the glass about 1/2 an inch back and forth. Is something missing from my door? some kind of guide or something?

There are a lot of adjustments that can be made to the window, the best way I've found to adjust it is to undo all of the adjusting bolts ect sit inside the car wind the window up and position it tightly into the rubbers then do up all the bolts

Has your car still fitted with this window retaining clip, as these were fitted to stop the window popping out at speed?
sorry the photos sideways

No I've just had a look it's missing that on the drivers side. What does that attach to?

Cool that will be it then! I'll take the rubber off and measure up for a new one!

To be honest I knew the passenger side had one but in never made the connection between that and stopping the window blowing outwards. That's why I never looked at getting one for the drivers side.
