What seats from other cars fit?

Post by Firebreather » Fri Nov 14, 2014 7:43 pm

I want to get some nice seats in my 3rd gen. I know that 4th Gen ones fit, but they don't come up very often. I also want cream leather :D do seats from other cars fit? I'm thinking things like mondeos, Rovers, volvos , jags etc. Theres usually plenty of them around for pretty cheap. The runners would have to be changed but what would fit in width and height?

I've seen Subaru and Porsche seats in 3rd gens before. Not sure how easy they were to fit though. Try searching firebirdnation, there should be some threads on there.

The mazda seats go in quite easily as well. The runners are a bit different but are flat unlike some modern seats where the runner feet are at different levels

The mx5 seats look a bit small to me. I don't really fancy any racing style bucket seats either, just comfy ones. Mitsi GTO is a good call, they're basically the same as a 4th gen anyway, the rears might even fit as well. I guess Nissan 300zx might also do it. I can't remember seeing any in cream leather though.

My next question was going to be can I get a wing back rocking chair to fit :D

I don't know how easy it will be to drive in slippers though...
