1979 trans am dash cover

hi guys away to fit a dash cover to my t/a what is the best adhesive to use to make it stick down on old dash or is it plain old silicone

I have never done this task but I would imagine a good spray in contact adhesive would be the best? Seems to be the normal for sticking things down with longevity in mind and a firm grab.
