Carb or injected?
If the stock Rochester carb, filter is in the front of the carb and pump is front left of the engine, behind the air/smog pump if you still have it.
if injection, pump is in a the tank and I think filter is near the rear drivers side wheel

follow the pipes from the carb and you will find the pump
where the pipe enters the carb there is a larger nut, undo this and there is a filter in there

You need a pressure gauge which is dampened with glycerin or similar, and a measured pint pot.

Pressure should be 6psi but it will dance up and down even with a dampened gauge as the pump pulses in time with the pump pushrod driven off the eccentric in front of the timing chain. You will need to tee into the fuel line to pressure test.

As for the pint pot you need to check delivery rate. As for thirdgens I'm unsure what the GPH is of the pumps. A thirdgen expert will surely know this.
