Re: Engine problem
Well, didn't get it started, ended up with almost a full days work so only got just over a hour to work on car.Took 20-30 minutes just to put drivers side header on and about 10 minutes of that was tightening the rear centre bolt, always a pain that one.Fitted passenger side to engine before i dropped it in.Just got to tighten exhaust at collectors, fit starter and radiator and get a new accelerator cable as i found that was ready to snap.
Might get thursday now before i get time to finish it.

Re: Engine problem
All that hasselhoff taking the engine out and i still can't start it,my new starter that cost me almost £190 is knackered.Gonna phone real steel tomorrow see if they can get me a new gear, not buying another starter.Looked on manufacturers website but don't show that piece.

Re: Engine problem
Oh dear. Looks like the gears in the high torque mini starters aren't high torque enough to cope!

Re: Engine problem
Thing is,i only bought it because i thought it was the starter motor causing my starting problems,so probably nothing wrong with the one i had on,that was only about 12 months old.bhm1712 wrote:Oh dear. Looks like the gears in the high torque mini starters aren't high torque enough to cope!
