quick one for you folks before i visit the car tomo, where abouts is the oil pressure switch on the engine?? mines a pontiac 400 6.6 77 trans am

the pressure switch or sender depending whether you have the oil pressure light or oil pressure gauge is located just above the oil filter on the oil filter adapter which bolts to the engine.

The one pictured is larger than what you would usually find on there. If it is missing, the hole must have been plugged otherwise it would be 0-engine wrecked in 30 seconds when all the oil is pumped out of the hole!
Another location i have seen for them (usually a mod) is behind the distributor down on the top of the block. There is a tap in to the main oil gallery there. This is a preferred location for an oil pressure switch or sender as you get true post filter pressure here not pre filter pressure. if the filter becomes clogged, the pressure would potentially still show as fine in the original location as its pre filter. check there too
