Is there any snags or pitfalls in changing these, or can I happily go like my usual bull
in a china shop method.

When I took mine off I had issues with the water pump studs coming loose from the timing cover and so I had to thread lock the studs back in before re fitting. Only other thing I would say is that the front part of the sump gasket will need changing as it's a separate part for between the timing cover and sump and it wouldn't re-seal after. (4 part sump gasket originally)

Everything else is straight forward. Oh and if the oil level is higher than the sump to block face you will lose it on the floor! Drain a little out first.

Hope that helps
