Have a word with Richard at Alders Automotive. They can do repairs and maybe could supply a replacement gearbox. Contact details on the Sponsors page.

Oh dear - So their claim of "any make and model" isn't worth anything!

Well you have 3 options as far as I see it then:

Take it to autopontiac

Take it to alders automotive

Or pull it and rebuild DIY!

Oh there's one more - get a replacement or recon and fit it.

For you down in St Austell the first 3 are all a pain in the bum for distance or labour involved for yourself!

I know Tom at Autopontiac does all the transmission rebuilds and is a dab hand at it, never used alders but they specialise in automatics so know their stuff. There's also a place in Nottingham which definitely does 700r4 but obviously that's way too far for you.

Worth a try, i knew them when it all started. But Rods dont pay the bills, so they do commercial trucks too, but good guys and worth a shot.

your slippage is most likely cuase by the front clutch pack worrn out but sometime is the valve body if you are not use to working on auto boxes i would buy a rebuilt one with garentee as part alone can cost the price of a rebuilt box and things like valve bodys really need to be sent away and tested on a high pressure test bed so it can be checked underf full working pressue only only a few places have theese we use to do auto boxes but it is to much agro with the modern boxes with gearbox control modules and often ecu has to be flashed with dealer software to sort out shift patterns ect at least your box will be pretty basic :thumb:

That's what was wrong with mine when it went. Slipped on kick down to begin from 3rd to 2nd. Got gradually worse and then one day lost drive completely. Turned out the front clutch pack wore out and then metal began to eat into the drum so I had to have new parts.

Cost a lot !

yeah some times you can get a crack on the drum wich drops the pressure in the box causing it to slip, normally if it has cracked in drive from a stand start it will take time to pick up speed and slip
