Pontiac 400 Motor Top End Refresh

Post by bhm1712 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 12:49 am

Here's what i've been up to the last 2 months. Decided to bite the bullet and do the top end as it was burning a lot of oil through the valve stems.

Pretty obvious once i got the heads off what had been going on.

Many thanks to Autopontiac for the machining of the valve guide bosses to accept a positive lock valve stem seal!

I'll let the photographs do the talking.

sounds healthy mind you you will have a lot more pressure in the cylinders now then before as im guessing there was a fair bit of valve seat recession as per usual on the 400s
