starter motor

hi just finishing my new build a 455 block, my problem is there is only one bolt hole fore the starter motor ? ? on the block. does anyone have any idea is there another way to fix this there is also no date stamp next to dizzy might be a replacement block. do you think drill and tap only way to sort out.

Never heard of this before. I've never heard of a replacement block other than a cast aluminium or billet aluminium block.

Any pics?

some pics have ordered a drill bit that should do it. the engine has had a lot done to it before so has been run just not sure how they started it

Looks like an original cast iron block but I can't understand why the second starter bolt hole is not drilled out!! Go ahead and drill and tap away!!
