Coolant recovery bottle location 1979-1981

Post by bhm1712 » Mon May 13, 2013 9:23 pm

Can anybody post a picture of a coolant bottle in the engine bay from a 1979 -81 firebird or trans am please? i have got one of the type which bolts directly to the inner wing, not one with a bracket. There are no holes in the inner wing on mine as the inner wings came from a 77 i believe. I cant position it in a place which looks right and i dont want to drill in the wrong place!

THANKS!

I can't help at the moment, "working away" in Bristol until Friday, if it's not sorted then, will take a pic etc at week-end.

Thanks gents. It's strange because all the ones I've ever seen have been fixed to a bracket although I can just about remember mine being attached to the inner wing. It's so long since I've had a coolant bottle that I can't remember how or where it fits.

Think my coolant recovery bottle is mounted onto inner fender with a bracket like this

Does your one without the bracket look like this
