Traction bars

Post by PF400 » Sun Dec 01, 2013 5:42 pm

Has anyone had experience of fitting traction bars to a firebird, preferably 67-69 but i assume the leaf spring arrangement on the later models isn't that different?! I'd be interested to know. I'm getting quite a bit of tramp with hard starts so considering some Competition Engineering traction bars that are listed on Summit's site.

The only person I know for sure who has them on a second gen is swampdonk cos I've seen them on his car. I don't think he fitted them- think he said they were on the car when he got it. Other than him it's possible Kev 190164 has them on his resto-mod trans am. Drop him a pm....

Thanks ill do that. I'd just be interested to know how easy they are to install and how effective they are. I'm keen to fit them myself so any info is useful.

Ok that sounds about right if you have a lowered vehicle. I don't have any problems with ride height. Did you remove them yourself, we're they fairly straight forward to remove?
