Strange thing happening to one header gasket??
Noticed this today when tightening bolts!
Seems to be some moist substance. It's not blowing here at all but there seems to be an oily wetness soaking into the gasket from god knows where. I assumed it might be header paint melting off and soaking up but at that point the gasket isn't in direct contact with the flange due to the gap created by the sealing bead on the header port itself. It sticks up about 1.5mm so when pulled up tight it leaves a small gap where that substance is soaking up.

I mean this when I say sealing bead:
The sealing face where the weld has been ground down creates a gap which allows the gasket to move freely within the gap and so it's not directly pressed against the flange where the moisture is soaking up! Im lost

i think this must be paint actually - it seems to be burning off, and it appeared in other places today after a full heat cycle where there is no possibility of being a leak.
