a moving one!

yes they do look horrendous that long, but Robin did say they would need trimming back to preference. Im going to buy a recip saw to do them nicely and take them back to within the body line.

Cant get over the sound of the engine now the new systems are one though - as always the camera doesnt do the depth of sound any quality. It also feels better behind the wheel. The response of the throttle seems improved and the torque is there instantly. My dad is driving it in the video. First time ive let anybody else drive it!

no its not stainless its the aluminized steel. The extra cost of stainless wasnt worth it for me. The system that was on was mild and not aluminzed and it was over 20 years old and the pipes were no where near rotted through. With the amount of miles mine does, i doubt i will have any rusting out issues whilst i own the car.

fair enough.

it looks quite low at the rear like it needs t be leveled up a bit to me. and chopped off of course.

it cant go any higher, its the shape of the bends. It need cutting down to length but the angle cant change. The over the axle part and where it meets the silencer is at the correct height so any adjustment to tail pipe heigh and angle would alter that. I rang Robin to check and he says when he fits the system he usually heats up the bend and bends it up to be more straight. I dont have the stuff to heat it up enough so ill let Robin do it next time im down there!!

plus, its my first ever time at doing an exhaust DIY! i may have to get it tweaked professionally! its not easy on your back and with the car on drive on ramps only!

i know i know, its just the more i look at that pic the more i dislike the way they look as they are!! :-/

Ill get chopping as soon as i buy the recip saw and then re-evaluate the look. Even if i have to get it tweaked at least it wont cost me the same price as it would have to fit it from scratch!

i have never had one with level tail pipes on both sides apart from my red one and they was hidden underneath pointing downwards i liked that hidden look .

well it always an option to do that with these.....thats why they are over sized to start with - so you can do whatever you want with them. I could cut them just above the bottom of the rear panels bottom and have them hidden. not sure yet. or i could put some bandit ends on!

indeed they do :thumb:
wanted them on my 78 but could not afford them then (no internet/ebay in those days either)

had a system like yours, can remember cutting it to length and putting blocks on bend and jacking the car up on the exhaust to level them :thumb:
