How exactly do you bend the tips with a jack and not damage the rest of the system?

carefully put wood blocks above the exhaust to brace it against the car floor pan and block under centre exhaust
then padded jack under the too low tail pipe. a bit of heat where you want it to bend helps (I used an oxy-acc. torch)
be careful, a bit at a time as its not easy to unbend it if you go too far ;)

Sounds risky!

Got to tweak the right hand system anyway now as I have noticed I have not allowed enough room for the prop to drop down on the suspension

Never ever kwik fit!!

I can tweak it myself easily I've been under this morning and had a look.

As for the tail pipes that may be a visit to an exhaust place local to me.

most people call them bandit tips as that's where they saw them first
a bit like all 77/78 transams are called bandit transams, they were not called that by GM :p
don't think they called early 3rd gens knightriders either ;)

not if you are careful, as it should not need too much of an angle to align it

for some reason the iPhone recorded the sound badly today. Its not so thud thud thud sounding in the flesh, it still sounds like it did before, only with better tail pipes!
