Wheel nuts

Evening all

Had a day of it today, went to pick up some aftermarket wheels for my '97 Firebird. Moons ago on my mates Camaro I had some 18" BMW M Parallels that fitted fine, so I made sure the offset and PCD were correct on these before going to pick them up.

Wheels were as described by the seller, good condition and upon trying to fit, the "tunnel" (for want of a better phrase) where the nut descends (forgive terminology ) is really tight for the nut itself, let alone the socket to drive it tight.

Anyhoo, looks like we need a 17mm headed nut with the correct thread to have any chance of getting the nuts on and correctly torqued. Standard nuts are 19mm. Nuts fit fine on my aftermarket American Racing wheels and other random wheels I have in the garage (Holden OEM 5 spokes)

Can anyone recommend a solution? Happy to have some made to fit, but can anyone recommend anyone to do the work? Has anyone encountered this problem?

Strange as my BMW wheels were absolutely fine.

Thanks again, sorry for keep asking questions.
Luke

a lot of aftermarket wheels use wheel nuts/bolts with "allen bolt" style heads

ebay or firm that sells wheels
or the company that made the wheels you bought, just tell them the thread size

82->2002 are M12 x 1.5 Thread Size

Pontiac Firebird 1982-2002 - this example has details on the lug size.
