New fuel line required..
As the title suggests, the original steel fuel line on my '71 firebird has expired. Any ideas what would be the best thing to replace it with? It needs to go the full length of the car, from tank to fuel pump, then on to the carb. Suggestions on what to use, and where to get it would be gratefully received...
Ronseal does indeed do exactly what it says on the tin... It caused nausea and vomiting when ingested... Mind you, I've got a tin of paint in the shed that says "open other end" but it never is...

you can buy copper pipe from plumbing and heating supliers
(intended for taking heating oil from tank to boiler)

I was thinking about using copper microbore; its fairly cheap, but was slightly worried about it "work hardening", and fracturing with vibration. I suppose as long as its fixed to the chassis, and fitted with flexible rubber fuel line at either end, it'd be ok. May be worth a try.

So, would THIS stuff do? I've heard kunifer is a lot less likely to work harden than straight copper...
Thoughts??

Re: New fuel line required..
would work fine, but as the pipe will be attached to the car, and will have a rubber hose joining it to the engine the pipe wont be bending/moving so no work-hardening would occur (it is caused by bending repeatedly, not by vibration)
it is cheap enough though so I would go for it if I was you

i got my tube from a hydraulics company and just layed the originals on the floor, copied the shape and then fitted the new ones. perfect with no drama.
