Hi all. Thought I would move this topic from the parts wanted section.
After fitting the new Alternator in my 1992 3.1 V6 the car turns over but will not start. I don't think the fuel pump is working and there is a loud tapping sound from where the air filter meets the throttle body, And some of the dash board lights are flickering when the key is not in the ignition
I Have checked all the fuses in under the steering wheel and all are ok. are there any more inline fuses anywhere. I cannot see any under the bonnet.
any help in much appreciated
Thank you
Darren

have you checked all the connections, especially the battery ign. feed wire? (the small one on + terminal)

thanks for the reply. The battery terminal wires don't look the best. They are both tape up with insulation tape. I will pull it all off tomorrow and have a better look at the wiring.
Thank you John

All done. 10 minute job. The joys of classics with loads of access.
