just got home from mersea show outside the house stopped to park it up and revere in and engine cut out ! no spark now ! god dam it i have power to the coil ok plenty of fuel goin in !!!

its got the coil in the dizzy cap a condenser in there and a ignition module thing how can i check the module is ok ? i think i will buy a new cap/ rotor arm anyway as they look used ! i have 24000 ohms book says 20000 so not far out on the coil

argggggggggggggghhhhh it was running great !!!!!!!!!!! i hate cars !!!!!!!!

can oil pressure switch have anything to do with it ? i cant see it going up when i crank it now? only if they have ecu is it mine is basic !

Has it got the HEI dizzy? If so id say it was the module ontop of the dizzy cap, could check the wires to the dizzy too

has power going to it why should it run ok then just stop the car on the brake and it cut out ????

It's an absolute tiss paker Paul but right at the bottom of the dizzy below the rotor arm and weights for mechanical advance is the module with the pick up coil on it. It has 2 wires coming from it. You need to check resistance over these 2 wires to verify the pickup coil is good. Should be around 700 ohms, but you need to dismantle the dizzy to get to them!

ok thanks i had that before on my gta managed to repair it rewound it and resoldered it back after the break. i remember now. i will check it out its been in bits enough times today for now i might get violent with it if i look at it again !!!

i cant believe it broke down outside my house after all them miles.

the current broken one does not like the vacum pipe attached anyway so this might be a good thing ! ordered it now i might as well keep the car quite enjoyed it until it broke down today !!!!! its very trying i want to take it to billing next week so its a quick fix !

Im undecided as to Billing yet, My dads not 100% after his sudden illness last weekend and id like to be near just in case. Plus, my Firebird nail is in need of attention on several minor items as well. Diff cover gasket has started leaking.

i think CHRISTINE wanted to teach me a lesson for putting a for sale in her at mersea show got me outside home and then shut down :oldevil: she dont want to go :oldrolf: when i was looking at changing the rear lenses to red ones the boot dropped on my head ouch she was learning me i think so i left her be. CHRISTINE lives :oldrolf:

hope she likes her new dizy i am treating her too and she aint mean to me for a while again :lol:

The old boot lid dropping on head ey..... Yes mines done that before, but it doesn't have the proper springs to hold it up so it's my fault I guess
