Evening All

I have just bought a non runner Pontiac Firebird base coupe.

I need a new battery. Can anyone recommend a specific make and model? Should I stick with the original side terminals or would a more modern one be ok?

Thanks

You can get side terminal batteries but it's not necessary as long as the cables fit on a top terminal battery.

To be honest I would simply get the largest battery which fits in the "hole" and has enough CCA to start it. I've got a ford transit spec battery in mine as it's 850CCA and it's 90ah. Just fits the battery tray and has plenty of ooommpphh

Oh and compared to side terminal batts and "American car" batteries you find the Tranny batteries only cost about £60!!

Alternatively if you want a side post battery go here http://www.tayna.co.uk/American-Car-Bat ... 701-1.html
They do discount for POC members :thumb:

I have a Halfords one in mine, didn't buy it from there,i took it out of my Transit when i fitted a huge battery in the van,so big i had to take the battery box out to get it under the seat.
