Battery earth ground

Hi all

easy one for you this, where does the main earth from the battery go? i know a little one from the negative goes to the fender but not sure where the big fat lead goes too??

Main earth lead from battery on mine goes to the engine block,bolts to front of cylinder head on mine.
Another earth strap goes from rear of engine block(from one of the long bolts that bolt the starter motor to engine) to the chassis

As long as there is a connection between the negative terminal on the battery and block, and to the chassis it doesn't really matter where they go. I would recommend using at least 16mm2 cable for all connections between battery and block/chassis. As Paul has said, originally they would have been wired up with a radial negative circuit so that if one link fails there is still another path for the current to flow through. Negative to block - block to firewall - and inner wing to negative
