Hi guys,

I've a 1983 firebird that until last week ran fine, this week I turn the key and nothing happens. There is no electric power at all, no starter, radio, clock, nothing. I thought the battery might be flat, so charged it and still nothing, so I bought a new battery and still nothing.
Any help or suggestions what the problem could be, please let me know.

cheers!

Pesky electrical gremlins. Id suggest starting with checking condition of battery leads and that they have a good connection/earth. Are any fuses blown?

Hi Ed,

It sounds like you may have an issue with a fusible link down by the starter motor. You need to locate the fusible links in the wiring connecting to the starter motor and check for continuity across them. They are responsible for supplying battery power upto a wiring connector near the brake booster and through to the rest of the cars electrics.

Common issue unfortunately.

Can you just confirm that all items are dead? Even the cig lighter?
