Hi all I have a little problem with the heater blower like it don't work and the good old trusty Haynes manual states that to gain access to the motor I have to take a air chisel to the inner wing. Right don't think so is there a way to get to it without removing the inner or outer wings or going like a seen from pysco with a air chisel. Any advice would be appreciated I do have a few other things that I could do with advice on and will post them up later thanks.

The inner wing needs to come out. Held in by bolts.

Thanks I will have to just do it. Better than cutting a hole in the inner wing. The car is a Daly drive and with the cooler weather I need the demister working once again thanks for the advice.

Have you looked in the technical section of the forum ?
There is some information about heater motor/fan not working, under heading Coolant system which may assist you.

Thanks for that I have had a look but can't see anything about the heater blower not working. There is a thread about only warm air being blown through the demister vents. My problem is the fan is not even working.

It's going to have to be a case of get on with it I think. Why didn't I get a car in the summer. I have a few jobs to get on with over the winter months like improving the wipers and also the head lights I want to get rid of the lap belts and fit 3 point seat belts. The drive's side window seams to go down to far and then jams on the way back up all small bits. Thank you for your advice and to everyone else who has replayed to this post.

Yes the inner wing has to come out to gain access to the blower motor. However, it may be your resistors which have failed - does it run on full speed at all?

If not, then inner wing out and you will easily be able to see both the connections for the motor and the actual motor assembly itself. If I recall, it's held into the blower assembly by around 8 small screws.

Thanks for that the motor is completely dead and not moving at all. I will have to remove the inner wing and track the power back from the motor to find where the problem is. Its been great to have people on here that can give advice and I'm truly grateful to all for their advice.

The wiring for the motor connects to the relay which is bolted to the air con/blower box right there in the engine bay (passenger side). Tracing it shouldn't be difficult. You can test for power at the relay and if there's power there you can assume the motor is toast.

Nice one that will help knowing where the relay is for it. I have got to pick up some of my tools from the ex including my test meter so will have a look this week thanks again all.
