2nd Gen speaker arrangement

Currently got nothing in the way of ICE in mine.. though looking at rewiring and installing..
can see that previous owner had a set of oval speakers in the parcel shelf, and some tweeters mounted on the headliner above the doors... also a pair on the dash - not thinking this is the best option for my system..
Back in the glory days of my old Mk 1 Astra (quality motor :-) ) I cut the front door cards to put speakers in.. not feeling this is a good option on the bird though - was interested to hear what kind of setups you 2nd gen owners have to give me some ideas! looking forward to hearing what you have !
pics welcome !

thanks !

I'm interested in the opinions on this myself!

Currently have ovals in the parcel shelf and bought a set of speakers for the doors that would do a lot for the sound but haven't fitted them yet. The doors in these cars need a good old slam to close properly so I am worried that this will damage the speakers. Not sure where to put them for hasselhoff free sound...............?

i have a pair of 6x9,s bolted under rear shelf, and a pair of 13cm i have pushed under the center consol, just reached around and pushed them in under the cb cubby hole. One cabletie on each to hold them inplace incase i hit a pothole to hard! Also got a 15in sub in the boot and 2 amps, but there coming out as it interfers with the cb. Sounds bloody good and super bass. Vibrates the rust out of all the panels! But only have it on on long trips. Dont use the car otch so its nice to hear the v8 around town!

Roll down the windows and listen to that V8 pump!

Best sound you'll ever need!

Not got front speakers in mine but when i fit some i was thinking about putting them on the door panel using something like these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SA-009-100mm-Univ ... 286.c0.m14 you can get them for different sized speakers.

not sure I know where you mean for these?

I'm very reluctant to cut the door cards, or even screw into them to be honest, preferring the idea of leaving them as they are, and finding an alternate location for some up the front... wasn't sure how a system would sound with only rears in..

Can do anything you want really, If you want hidden front speakers you will probably have to use slim speakers with hidden pods.
