Sub not working

Any audio guru's able to throw me some tips on this?

Just sorting my new amp and sub and after lots of headaches threading wires and skinning knuckles i found only 2 of my speakers were working.
After lots of trial and error to solve the problem i finally narrowed it down to crap quality wire with torn fibres 1/2 way along.

After a day of this (and sorting my leaky rear) I hooked it all up in the right place and find my sub isnt working.
Plays when i hook it to a satalite output from amp but not on sub output. Dont know jack about car audio and as im on hols in 2 days would like some help to get it sorted before then.
Just wondered if there is some simple thing i've missed cos im dense...

Amps a Infinity 5350
Heads a JVC kd901-r
Subs a JL 3w3-2

Partly struggling as one manuals in german and waiting for email of english version >:(
All leads are hooked up as suggested (unless ive been a muppet)

Any one wanna have a go?

well subs are fairly easy not much to them its just the fine tuning that takes the time

first how thick is the wire going from the battery to the amp
i normaly use a 10mm cable same for the earth

then you have the signal wire going from the radio to the amp that is only a signal so dont have to be big

once you have the powers all there there should be a green light on the amp when it working

then the 2 rca leads both coloured so cant really go wrong there

then a bit of big speaker wire going from the amp to the sub + to + ect

i dont know what amp you have as i have never had one of them but normaly you have the sub out puts or 2ch then its just a case of playing with the switches and turning the nobs to get it right

amps wired fine and all working as its running the satalite speakers atm (5 channels)

Got the white red phono leads in right slots but no sound from sub except when amp first starts up.

Reakon its got to be summit to do with the headunit tbh as its the onl thing that makes sense.
Typical that the manual to its auf deutch. Will just try every menu function tomorrow and see what i can find i think

Yeah as Matt said, check that the sub option is enabled on your head unit. They are normally switched off by default so just find the subwoofer menu and go in and fiddle with the settings.

Solved :)

was a dodgy phono lead not properly connected so no signal to sub.

Now my only issue is i ran the bat to flat to start the car and its nose in to garage
Have to wait till the boss is back tomorrow so i can get the leads and jump start it.... after a long push 1st :-/
