Engine Turned shifter gate trim fitted (My own design)!
I've been wanting to fit a matching 'engine turned' effect shifter gate trim to match the dash since buying her but they are currently around $50 plus shipping.
So had a bit of a eureka moment in the week. I've had some silver vinyl knocking about for a while so bought a roll of Fablon circle effect window film from B & Q. I applied this over the top of the silver vinyl, then made a template in paper of the shifter gate and after a bit of fettling and trimming, here are the results. I also went around the raised edges with a fine paint brush and re-painted the silver as it had worn off.
I am super impressed with the results and saved myself a bit of cash too! I will get the proper one eventually but this is the nearest I'll get to the real trim.
All comments welcome.
Paul.
