This is great news for individuals like myself, as i was constantly asked by folk if my car was a write off or a kit car because it was on a Q plate.
Thanks to Steve i was able to get my reg transferred to a year correct one and without any hasselhoff like i had previously had from the DVLA when trying to sort it out on my own.

you did mine about 2.5 years ago! went to the DVLA to arrange the transfer and they said come back with your MOT certificate and tax disc, which i never did! then earlier this year with the big push to get mine back on the road i finally took the info down and because the MOT and tax had ran out they didnt need to do anything extra so it was a 5 minute thing. She looked at the paperwork you did and then went to a file and gave me a list of 5 reg numbers to choose from. PRR180W was the most appealing as the others were numbers like 349, 216 etc! preferred to have a whole number so to speak. PRR is also Nottinghams code so chuffed!!

I don't know a lot about the british legislation, but what is a "Q" plate ?
BTW, I have a bunch of british license plates from the car my brother and I bought, anything I can do with these ? Can the old numbers be reused once the car has been exported ?

Sorting out these Y.O.M.plates is a benefit available to POC club members completely free of charge. Value for money at £25, plus there's loads of other benefits too. So, join the club, then send a pm to Cowboy1sf (Steve) who will be happy to sort out the year correct plate for your car.

Is this the same process if you gave an Irish registration plate and want age related one?
