drivers door stuck shut

My car is infuriating me at the minute and im not joking, i nearly punched the freshly painted door with anger but i just managed to resist.

been working on it tonight, opened the door a few times to do various things as you do, then closed it, came back to do something else and nothing, its like its locked but it isnt, luckily the door panels are off as i havnt fitted my new handles or locks yet so i just open it with the inside handle but its not doing anything, ive put my hand inside to the latch and pressed down with my fingers on the parts where the rod goes for the outer handle but it still wont pop open.

what the hell !!
