Air Filter
air filter hi guys as you know im restoring my trans am 1979 my question is the air filter housing is the old black type i want to change it to a nice eldabrock chrome one will the shaker hood still attach to this?

No mate it won't. The shaker is an integral part of the air filter housing lid.

You could fit the shaker to the hood, that may allow you to fit a chrome air filter housing. But the shaker won't shake...

thanks for the replies guys will just have to look for a new filter housing cause my one is rusty in parts or i may sand blast it and paint it?
